Top 10 Guitar Players

Hi, today I will gonna show you a top ten list of the best guitar players. I know that not everyone will agree, top ten lists are always motive of contradiction, but it's just my top ten list, not the top ten universal. So here it is:

10º - Tom Morello

Tom Morello, guitarist of Rage Against the Machine, who makes his guitar sound like anything else but a guitar, made him probably the most innovative guitarist of our time.

9º - David Gilmour

David Gilmour, another mythic guitarist, was made famous by his haunting guitar scores in Pink Floyd. Every song he plays is forged with all of his emotion like in "Comfortably Numb" for example...

8º - Mark Morton

Mark Morton, composes and plays almost all of Lamb of God's guitar solos and many of the crazy rythms. He is also a fast guitarist like every heavy metal guitarist.

7º - Synyster Gates

Synyster Gates, solo guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold, highly praised by their soils is one of the fastest guitar players. He also created his own guitar and special effects for guitar.

6º - Kirk Hammett

Kirk Hammett, the solo guitarist of Metallica, with his melodic, technically and fast way of playing guitar has made some of the best solos ever.

5º - Keith Richards

Keith Richard, another mythic guitarist, plays in the mythic Rolling Stones, is the creator of more memorable riffs like "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", "Start Me Up," etc.

4º - Slash

Slash helped make Guns N' Roses one of the most dangerous bands in the world with his amazing solos as "November Rain" and "Sweet Child O'Mine".

Jimi Hendrix naturally had to be first in that list, because it influenced many guitarists of these days with his beautiful chord embellishments and extravagant ways of playing his guitar.

Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix was one of the best musicians of all time and remains today. He has influenced a lot of musicians, known and unknown, such as Slash and Lenny Kravitz with its unique way of making music and his irreverent ways to play guitar.
Unfortunately, he died early, but not from drug-related complications as many people think, he died after taking pills for sleeping and when passed bad, was taken to the hospital and nurses laid him on the stretcher facing upward, choking and dying by his own vomit.

     Curiosities about Jimi Hendrix:
  •     Despite being left-handed, he played with a right-handed guitar, but with the strings placed to left-handed which gave him a unique guitar sound.
  •     Jimi Hendrix was a great admirer of Bob Dylan.
  •     Jimi was arrested once for carjacking and was given him 2 options to choose: 2 years in jail or enlist in the army. He choose the 2nd.
  •     He never had guitar lessons neither learn reading guitar chords.
  •     Hendrix plays "Hey Joe" solo with his teeth and with the guitar behind the neck:

These are the songs that I like:

-Hey Joe

-Voodoo chile

-Purple haze

Slipknot

Slipknot are a friends group, in total are 9, from Des Moines, Iowa, who appeared in final of 90's.
They became famous due his great musical skills and also its distinct scary masks and industrial coveralls. The members made use of the coveralls and masks to remain anonymous and be only recognized by the music (unlike some artists who only sell in the media due your images). The strategy worked in part, taking into account that Slipknot has become known worldwide because their masks, at least extravagant, but not only, their music are very good too.
Other mark of this band since the beginning, is have given the "loving" maggots nickname to his fans.
They are also known by his energetic and chaotic live shows.

    Current members:

# 0 - Sid Wilson - DJ
# 1 - Jay Weinberg
 - drums
# 2 - Donnie Steele - Bass (substitute for Paul Gray after his death in 2010)
# 3 - Chris Fehn - Percussion and backing vocals
# 4 - James Root - Guitar
# 5 - Craig Jones - Sampler & Keyboard (music)
# 6 - Shawn Crahan - Percussion and backing vocals
# 7 - Mick Thomson - Guitar
# 8 - Corey Taylor - Vocals

    Some curiosities:
  • The band has three different colors of overalls: red, black and blue. On the right sleeve of clothing has the member number, on the left side the tribal band-shaped "S". The left chest has a small bar code, on the back has an enormous.
  • All masks were made by the musicians themselves.
  • Before joining the band, vocalist Corey Taylor worked in a sex-shop.
  • The percussionist Chris Fehn claims to have seen UFOs in Indigo Ranch.
  • The video for "Duality" cost nearly half a million dollars.
  • Spit It Out Music was made especially for people who worked on a radio in Des Moines who trying to keep Slipknot off schedule.
  • Sid on stage is a great rival of percussionist Shawn. Despite knowing that clown always wins in fights, he has fun doing it. Says that the mask makes it, often, do not knows what is around him and so the shows become true hallucinations, especially when it comes to "fight" with Shawn.

    My favourite songs are:

- Duality

- Psychosocial

- Vermilion

- Before I Forget

- Snuff

One of my favourite bands is Pearl Jam because, I don't know, they songs are good melodies coupled a good lyrics and the voice of Eddie Vedder sounds perfectly in this kind of music style, so that have to be one of my favourite bands.
In 1990 came the Mookie Blaylock that in November the same year became Pearl Jam, suggested by Vedder, the singer. The musician said the name was a tribute to a jelly with hallucinogenic powers that his grandmother (called Pearl) did.
Along with Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Mother Love Bone, helped popularize the grunge movement, music genre with roots in independent music (indie), being a ramification of hardcore / punk, thrash metal, hard rock and alternative rock. They are considered one of most popular and influential group of 90's.
